About Me
For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed the company of animals. In 2001 I found a stray dog ( Australian Shepard mix), who was approximately 1 year old, in a park in Manhattan. This would be a pivotal moment in my life. I named her Olive and soon realized she had been severely mistreated. She would not allow anyone to groom her and so I had to learn! I recieved a crash course in grooming from a small shop in Canandaigua NY which was enough to keep my dog comfortble. In 2008 I decided to leave community college and go to the Rochester Institute for Dog Grooming in upstate NY. Here I learned how to create "show cuts" as well as hand stripping, pet first aid, and salon management as well as earning my grooming certificate. This was the beginning of my grooming career. I moved to Massachusettes in 2013 later working as a groomer at a Veterinarian Hospital.
For the past 5 years I worked at a wonderful salon in Portsmouth RI until moving to North Scituate in June of 2023.
I decided to open my own salon in nearby Smithfield and name it after my dear friend Olive who changed the course of my life and brought me to a career that I love!
I pride myself on having very high standards. My knowledge of animals, breed specific cuts, and overall grooming experience sets me apart.
I am also certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.
I groom each pet from start to finish, most pets take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to complete. I only book 4-5 pets per day so that I can be as thorough as necessary in a low stress environment.
I am also an artist and i enjoy drawing, painting and sculpting clay. Grooming is also a form of artistic expression for me.
I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
